The 2018 Chevrolet Trax is a crossover utility vehicle with quite a few updates and new features. A new Redline Edition has been made available with 18-inch black wheels, black Trax badging, black mirror caps, a black grille, black beltline trim, and Jet Black deluxe cloth/leatherette seating. Additional features that have been made standard on certain trim levels would be a forward collision alert, a sunroof, and a lane departure warning. The Trax comes with a 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-4 that produces 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque power. This engine is paired to a traditional six-speed automatic transmission. With front-wheel drive, this engine is capable of reaching 25 miles per gallon fuel economy ratings in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. For all-wheel drive, the fuel economy is rated at 24 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway.

The three trims of the Chevrolet Trax are the LS, LT, and the Premier. The base trim comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, air-conditioning, OnStar communications, Bluetooth, power-adjustable mirrors, a rearview camera, a seven-inch touchscreen interface, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. The second trim level is the LT with added LED daytime running lights, heated mirrors, roof rails, a 110-volt outlet, a satellite radio infotainment system, remote vehicle start, cruise control, remote vehicle start, and a storage drawer under the passenger seat. Multiple packages are available at this trim level for either a sunroof, a better sound system, further safety features, and upgraded luxury items. The final trim is the Premier with features that include four of the LT’s packages for features like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a sunroof, premium cloth upholstery, keyless ignition and entry, and so much more. For other standard features, there are 18-inch wheels, heated front seats, full simulated leather upholstery, and many safety features. A Midnight Edition package is available at this level as well.

Standard equipment for safety and security on the Trax would include a cargo security cover, a side-impact seat-mounted airbag, a passenger sensing system, power door locks, a rear window defogger, two-way adjustable head restraints, front and rear outboard seating airbags, lower anchors and top tethers for children, an OnStar guidance plan, three-point safety belts, a rear vision camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, an unauthorized entry theft-deterrent system, daytime running lights, and StabiliTrak traction control. Additional features would include four-wheel antilock brakes, fog lights, remote keyless entry with panic, keyless start and open, cruise control, rear park assist, rear cross traffic alert, and side blind zone alert.
