Can you tell me more about the trims of the 2018 Volt?
The Volt is a plug-in hybrid hatchback sedan which has seating for five. There are two main trim levels called the LT and Premier. The Volt LT comes standard with a fantastic range of amenities both inside and out. The exterior of the Volt LT has LED headlights (low-beam) and taillights, and 17-inch wheels while the interior has automatic climate control, 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks, and a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Convenience features include remote start and keyless entry/ignition. A great LT Comfort package adds luxury features like leather trim and heated seats. The Volt Premier contains all of the features of the LT, along with the Comfort package, a Bose audio system, heated rear outboard seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and more. For 2018 the luxurious Premier trim has gained a standard heated steering wheel, which is an optional feature for the LT trim.
What kind of powertrain system does the Volt have?
Chevy powers their Volt with a plug-in hybrid system which has twin electric motors, along with an 18.4-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 1.5-liter gasoline engine/generator. Altogether, the Volt provides a total system output of 149 horsepower. In order to recharge the system fully, the Volt needs to be plugged in. However, the battery pack partially recharges while you are on the go due to regenerative braking and the gas engine/generator.
Does the Volt have interesting technological features?
Yes, every Volt is equipped with a phenomenal range of technological features which help to create a more fun, entertaining, and safe drive. The LT boasts a gauge cluster display screen, reconfigurable driver information screen, Bluetooth, OnStar (with 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity), and an 8-inch central touchscreen. The Volt has Chevy's MyLink interface along with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, satellite radio, and a standard six-speaker sound system. The Volt Premier has a convenient wireless charging pad as well as an automated system for parallel and perpendicular parking. Both trims of the Volt are available with the Driver Confidence package, which adds rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-zone alert. When equipped with this package, the Premier trim is available with the Driver Confidence 2 package which adds adaptive headlights, forward collision warning with automatic low-speed emergency braking, and lane departure warning and intervention. This package can also be equipped with an upgraded automatic emergency braking system and adaptive cruise control.
